Lenten Prayer Vigil for the Earth.

Awake in the night? Is God calling? Let this meditation center your soul. Wherever you find yourself—in the quiet of your room, under the stars, or weeping beside a polluted waterway—lift up holy hands and pray. The earth needs our prayers. In the Watch Hours of the night, God listens. Give thanks for water, the great circulatory system of all the earth. From atmospheric rains to land to plants to rivers, lakes, and oceans to atmosphere again, the moisture cycle renews, refreshes, restores life on earth. Ask God to help you be a good steward, faithful water tender. Learn to follow the wisdom of nature’s ways. Remember the waters of your Baptism and be blessed. As God’s love surrounds you, be filled.
